Enjoy your private Whale Watching Hermanus Tour at your own pace and leisure. Your local professional tour guide will introduce you to the wonders of the whale coast including Hermanus and it natural surroundings.

We begin our tour departing Cape Town through Sir Lowry’s while enjoying the scenic views of the Hottentots-Holland mountain range.

Hermanus, known world-wide by for its rich land based whale watching from the cliffs and its history as a fisherman’s village. Getting up close and personal with the whales we join a whale watching boat trip for a memorable experience like no other.

The opening of the whale season peaks from around mid-June through December. The whale coast during this period is home to around 29 species of toothed whales including the southern right whale, brydes whale and humpback whale.

Should we be lucky enough we may also see African penguins, dolphins, seals and a wide variety of sea birds such as the Albatross.

Next we head through to the Harold Porter botanical gardens and Fernkloof nature reserve known as the heart of the Fynbos region where we have the opportunity to see over 1600 plant species, waterfalls and amber pools.

Lastly, should time allow we will pass through the magnificent Hemel en Aarde valley (translated as ‘heaven and earth valley’). Here we arrive at the Southernmost winelands of the country home to several award-winning wineries.

We then make our way back to Cape Town observing the sights we did not see earlier in the day.

Visibility & fog determines route followed on that day.
